ENSEMBLE

The Zorya Ukrainian Dance Association Ensemble is comprised of dancers ages 14+, many of whom graduated into the Ensemble from Zorya’s School. The Ensemble rehearses together twice per week during the September to May dance season. All Ensemble dancers currently study under guest choreographer Bryan Pitchko, in addition to past studies under many other renowned Ukrainian-Canadian choreographers. Zorya’s Ensemble is honoured to present its wide-ranging repertoire of traditional Ukrainian dance to thrilled audiences at a variety of festivals, fundraisers, private functions, public engagements and other shows at locations in Thunder Bay, and across North America.

The members of the Ensemble not only dance, but also serve as the primary instructors for Zorya’s School. Ensemble members are highly motivated to nurture and develop the next generation of Ukrainian dancers in Thunder Bay, while maintaining focus on a fun and enjoyable environment for their students. Ensemble members also voluntarily undertake numerous other roles within the Zorya Ukrainian Dance Association, creating an organization that is led by the dancers, for the dancers. This inclusive form of leadership maintains the association in a format this is highly relevant to the individual dancer.
